Every Baptised Christian is part of God's team and our parish is blessed to have so many people who initiate, lead, sustain and grow various aspects of the parish mission. With Fr Peter, Deacon John and Sister Catherine we hope to show God's love to the community to which we are proud to belong.
Fr Peter Montgomery
has been parish priest here since 2003. He comes from Stockport. Studied law at Manchester University and prepared for ordination at St Mary's College, Oscott. He was ordained priest in 1987 and has served in the parishes of Sacred Heart, Moreton, Saint Joseph's, Prenton, Saint Joseph's in Winsford was his first appointment as parish priest. Fr Peter also studied Canon Law and more recently was awarded an MA at Liverpool University in Art, Aesthetics and Cultural Institutions.
Deacon John Clowes
has lived most of his life in this area and has a professional background in the newspaper industry. He is at heart a family man and has also been a dedicated member of the St Vincent de Paul Society. He has served as a deacon at St Winefride's in Lymm as well as here in South Warrington. For a number of years he shared responsibility for the formation of deacons in the Diocese.
Sister Catherine Joy
is a member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Apparition. Trained as a nurse, she has made a big impact in a variety of ministries including parish work in Sale, Winsford and here in South Warrington. She has also held responsibility for communities at Liverpool and Bowdon Vale. She was School Chaplain at Saint Nicholas, Hartford for several years. Sister Catherine is currently receiving treatment for cancer and has had to take a break from active work in the parish.
